A Word on Gift-Giving

Since Craig and I have already set up our household, what do we really need? Other than a new mailbox? And landscaping? The answer is a realistic "not much."

Let me assure you the most of choices you see posted under "Gift Registries & Giving" are there for your amusement as much as ours—the result of online shopping at 2 am as if we were trust fund babies.

Would it be nice to have those smashing stainless steel outdoor torches from Lekker? Yes. Or the amazing fire place tool set from Crate & Barrel? You bet'ja!

But, would it be just as wonderful if you donated to Donorschoose.org? And helped a teacher in Florida fund his/her classroom or project? Abso-friggin-lutely!

Please note that my sister, the sole art teacher of a 500+ school, will be posting her proposal this week. So, if you're inclined to give, we'd appreciate it if you would support her school specifically.

The reality is that the gift registries are there because, well, we knew people would be asking. The fact is that what we really want is your company and good wishes most of all.

Honestly.

Though we really, really, really, do need a mailbox. And grass would be very nice, too.
